we have food at home.
~ingredients:
- all-purpose flour (1.5 cups)
- greek yogurt (1.5 cups)
- baking powder (1 tbsp)
- salt (3/4 tsp)
- egg (1)
- toppings (i used everything bagel seasoning)
~instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together.
- Mix in the greek yogurt (note: I really like using the Fage brand for greek yogurt because its less wet compared to other brands imo)
- A shaggy dough will form and then you can use your hands to knead until it comes together.
- Place dough down on a lightly floured surface, form a flat disc.
- Divide into 4 pieces (note: I like to use a scale to make sure the pieces are even)
- Method 1 to form the bagels: roll into a ball, pole a hole in the center with your finger and lightly pull out to form the bagel shape.
- Method 2 to form the bagels: roll into a log, and form a circle. Connect the ends by rolling it together at the ends
- Beat an egg with a tsp of water, this is the egg wash!
- Brush the bagels with the egg wash, and add your preferred toppings (i looove everything bagel seasoning)
- Bake for 25 minutes, until golden. Let cool before slicing.
