we have food at home.

~ingredients:

  • 1 lb flank steak (sliced against the grain)
  • beef marinade: 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce, 1 tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tbsp corn starch, 2 tsp sugar, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tbsp oil
  • fresh rice noodles (or dry)
  • 3 green onion (cut into 2 inch pieces)
  • 1/2 yellow onion (sliced)
  • sauce: 1.5 tbsp soy sauce, 1.5 tbsp oyster sauce, 1.5 tbsp dark soy sauce

~instructions:

  1. Marinade your flank steak for a minimum of 30 minutes, or overnight if you have the time!
  2. If fresh rice noodles, cut into 1 inch strips. If dry rice noodles, cook according to package directions and set aside.
  3. Mix together the sauce ingredients and set aside.
  4. Once ready to cook, drizzle a little more oil over the meat with a tsp of corn starch.
  5. Heat your oiled wok on high heat (not too much oil, the beef slices has enough oil). Once the wok is smoking, add in your beef slices.
  6. Sear the beef slices for a minute before flipping and stirring. When the beef slices are 80% cooked, remove and set aside.
  7. Add a little more oil into the wok, and once hot, add the onions and green onion. Stir fry until onions are translucent (2-3 minutes).
  8. Add in the noodles, and sauce. Mix thoroughly before adding back in the beef slices. Cook for another minute.
  9. Turn off the heat and drizzle some sesame oil on top before serving. Enjoy!
