we have food at home.

~ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of oil
  • garlic (4 cloves, sliced)
  • basil (a bunch)
  • onion (halved)
  • san marzano tomatoes (28oz can)
  • butter
  • salt
  • sugar
  • red pepper flakes

~instructions:

  1. Heat up oil, garlic, red pepper flakes, and basil until fragrant and basil has wilted. Remove from heat and let cool
  2. Melt butter in a pan, and place the white onion halves, cut side down. Sear the onion in the melted butter (7 min)
  3. Pour in a can of san marzano crushed tomatoes (I like these the most but any crushed tomatoes can work)
  4. Bring to boil and then simmer
  5. In the meantime, blend the basil steeped oil
  6. Add in the basil steeped oil to the sauce and stir
  7. Seasoning to your liking with salt. Add sugar if too acidic. You can also add any additional seasonings at this time
  8. Once ready, you can add in your pasta! Enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚
