- 1.5 lb thinly sliced ribeye
- 1 white onion
- 4 cloves garlic
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 scallion
- 1 tbsp neutral cooking oil
~instructions:
- Veggie prep: Slice a white onion into strips, and slice a scallion into thin strips on a bias. Mince the garlic.
- Marinade: Combine the minced garlic, soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, and sesame oil.
- In a large bowl, add the white onion and beef slices. Pour over the marinade and mix well. You can either set aside to marinade for 30 minutes, or cook right away.
- When ready to cook, heat up a pan on medium-high heat.
- Add 1 tbsp of cooking oil and once hot, add in the marinated beef and onions.
- Spread the beef and onions evenly in the pan, and let it cook in one layer.
- After 2 minutes, the beef should be browned on one side. Using a pair of tongs, stir the beef and onions to continue cooking until the rest of the beef is browned.
- When the beef is done, turn off the heat and top with green onion.
- Serve over rice, and enjoy!
