~ingredients:

  • 1.5 lb steak tip
  • steak marinade:
    • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
    • 1 tbsp soy sauce
    • 1 tsp dark soy sauce
    • 4 cloves garlic
    • 1 tsp black pepper
    • 1 tsp corn starch
  • 1/2 white onion
  • 1 red bell peppers
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • neutral cooking oil
  • Additional salt (to taste)
  • Additional black pepper (to taste)

~instructions:

  1. Cut your steak tip into 1 inch cubes.
  2. Add the above listed marinade ingredients to the steak cubes, and mix thoroughly. Set aside.
    • Marinate for a minimum of 1 hour, or prepare ahead of time and marinate overnight.
  3. Dice ½ a white onion into 1 inch squares, and do the same for the red and green bell peppers.
  4. When ready to cook, heat up a wok on medium-high heat with neutral cooking oil (I like to use avocado oil since it has a higher smoke point)
  5. Once the wok starts to smoke, add in the steak cubes in an even layer, and let the steak sear on one side for 2 minutes.
  6. Flip and sear the other side for another 2 minutes.
  7. Continue to sear the steak until all sides are browned, for another 2 minutes.
    • Cooking time also depends on how well-done you prefer your steak. I like to cook the steak just below medium-rare, since we will finish cooking it later with the veggies.
  8. Remove the steak from the wok, and set aside.
  9. In the same wok, add another drizzle of oil, before throwing in the white onion, red bell peppers, and green bell peppers.
  10. Add salt and a generous amount of black pepper to the vegetables.
  11. Stir-fry the vegetables for 3-4 minutes over high heat, or until the onions start to turn translucent, and bell peppers start to blister.
  12. Add back in the steak cubes, and stir to combine, for another minute.
  13. Turn off the heat, and serve. Enjoy over rice!
