~ingredients:
- 1.5 lb steak tip
- steak marinade:
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp dark soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp corn starch
- 1/2 white onion
- 1 red bell peppers
- 1 green bell pepper
- neutral cooking oil
- Additional salt (to taste)
- Additional black pepper (to taste)
~instructions:
- Cut your steak tip into 1 inch cubes.
- Add the above listed marinade ingredients to the steak cubes, and mix thoroughly. Set aside.
- Marinate for a minimum of 1 hour, or prepare ahead of time and marinate overnight.
- Dice ½ a white onion into 1 inch squares, and do the same for the red and green bell peppers.
- When ready to cook, heat up a wok on medium-high heat with neutral cooking oil (I like to use avocado oil since it has a higher smoke point)
- Once the wok starts to smoke, add in the steak cubes in an even layer, and let the steak sear on one side for 2 minutes.
- Flip and sear the other side for another 2 minutes.
- Continue to sear the steak until all sides are browned, for another 2 minutes.
- Cooking time also depends on how well-done you prefer your steak. I like to cook the steak just below medium-rare, since we will finish cooking it later with the veggies.
- Remove the steak from the wok, and set aside.
- In the same wok, add another drizzle of oil, before throwing in the white onion, red bell peppers, and green bell peppers.
- Add salt and a generous amount of black pepper to the vegetables.
- Stir-fry the vegetables for 3-4 minutes over high heat, or until the onions start to turn translucent, and bell peppers start to blister.
- Add back in the steak cubes, and stir to combine, for another minute.
- Turn off the heat, and serve. Enjoy over rice!
