ingredients:
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 pack soft tofu
- 5 cloves garlic
- 1 shallot
- 1 inch piece of ginger
- 2 tbsp toban djan (chili bean sauce)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp white pepper
- 2 cup water (or stock)
- if using water, add 1 tbsp chicken bouillon
- 1-2 green onion
instructions:
- Mince the garlic, shallot, and ginger
- Dice the green onion, separate whites and green
- Cut tofu into 1 inch cubes
- Oil your pan and heat up on medium-high heat.
- Once the pan is hot (oil should shimmer, and not smoke), throw in garlic, shallot, and ginger. Toast for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add in ground pork, break it up into smaller pieces, and season with 1 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp white pepper.
- Continue stirring, until the pork is cooked about 80% of the way.
- Add in the 2 tbsp toban djan (chili bean sauce), and mix into the ground pork
- Add 2 cups of water (or stock), and 1 tsp chicken bouillon (if using just water).
- Stir, and let come to a boil. Throw in the white parts of the green onion.
- Once it boils, lower the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Throw in the soft tofu, and simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Top with green onion, serve with rice, and enjoy!
