shrimp stir fry

we have food at home.

~ingredients:

  • shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 lb snap peas
  • 1 carrot
  • 1/2 onion
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp corn starch
  • 1 tbsp shaoxing wine
  • 1 tbsp water

~instructions: 

  1. Mix the following for the sauce: 1tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp corn starch, 1 tbsp shaoxing wine, 1 tbsp water
  2. In a pot of boiling water, blanch the snap peas and carrots for 1 minute, and then drain. Set aside. 
  3. In a hot wok, add about a tbsp of oil and then add garlic. Toast for 30 seconds or until fragrant. 
  4. Add in onions and cook until they’re translucent. 
  5. Add in snap peas and carrots, mix and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Add a sprinkle of salt. 
  6. Add in the shrimp and cook for another 3 minutes. Add in a splash of shaoxing wine when shrimp is halfway cooked through. 
  7. Add in the sauce we made in step 1 when the shrimp is almost done. Mix thoroughly. 
  8. Turn off the heat, add a drizzle of sesame oil, mix, and its ready to serve! 
  9. Enjoy over rice 🙂
